Why No Fish?

Newtopia is a wildlife pond, not an ornamental fish pond.

That choice matters.

Fish can be beautiful, but in a small wildlife pond they can also eat eggs, larvae, and many of the tiny creatures that amphibians and insects depend on.

A different kind of pond

Without fish, the pond becomes safer for newts, frogs, dragonfly larvae, water beetles and all the small things that make a wildlife pond feel alive.
